Art Deco Openwork Brooch and Hair Clip, Paste Set, Dual Fitting

£30.00

An elongated Art Deco brooch of pierced openwork form, the scalloped navette outline set with pave round stones and a central arrangement of baguettes, with millegrain edging to the settings. Fitted with BOTH a conventional pin and catch AND a hinged double-prong clip, so it can be worn as a brooch or as a hair or dress clip. STONES: examined at high magnification, the round stones show a uniform flat amber cast with no fire or dispersion and soft, rounded facet edges, and the baguettes have aged to a different tone from the pave. These are characteristics of PASTE (glass), not diamond. Diamonds do not discolour with age; foil-backed paste does. This piece is offered as Art Deco COSTUME jewellery and is NOT sold as diamond-set, nor as silver, gold or platinum. The quality of the work is good - the millegrain and hand-piercing imitate platinum diamond mounts of the 1930s closely. The identification, condition assessment and valuation in this listing were produced by an AI analysis of photographs only. ALL PURCHASES ARE MADE ENTIRELY AT THE BUYER'S OWN RISK. Sold as seen. These are second-hand goods and there are no returns.
