Gilt Metal Ball Pendant Watch with Chain Tassel, Dial Signed Omega - Not Guaranteed Genuine

£119.00

A decorative spherical pendant watch in gilt metal, the domed glass ball enclosing a cream dial with black Roman numerals, the movement visible through the clear reverse. Suspended from a hinged bail within a shaped surround, and finished with a gilt chain tassel drop. Wound by the crown at the top. The glass ball measures approximately 25mm in diameter.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING. The dial is signed OMEGA, and additionally "Swit-zerland made-1882". This wording does not correspond to genuine Omega dial printing, which reads "SWISS MADE" and carries no date. The name Omega was not used by the company until 1903; in 1882 the firm traded as Louis Brandt & Frere. The movement is unsigned, with no visible calibre or serial number. On that evidence the signature is regarded as SPURIOUS.

This piece is offered purely as a decorative curio. It is NOT sold as a product of Omega SA, and no attribution to that maker is made or implied. Buyers seeking a genuine Omega should not purchase this item.

The watch runs when wound, but timekeeping has not been regulated or verified and should be treated as unreliable. Condition is commensurate with age: the gilding is rubbed through on the bail and bezel edges, and the dial shows light spotting and surface marks.
