A Royal Regiment of Artillery sweetheart brooch, modelled as the regimental badge: a field gun beneath a King's crown, set throughout with marcasite, with blue enamel scrolls above and below reading UBIQUE (Everywhere) and QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT (Where Right and Glory Lead), and red enamel to the cap of the crown.
The King's crown dates the piece to before 1953, and the style of the marcasite setting suggests the Second World War period or shortly before. Sweetheart brooches of this type were bought by serving gunners as gifts for wives, mothers and sweethearts.
