£350.00£280.00

A fine matched set of four fruit knives and four forks, each fitted with hand‑carved mother‑of‑pearl handles and engraved sterling silver ferrules. The ferrules are fully hallmarked for London, 1891, with maker’s mark G B for George Bowen, a noted late‑19th‑century London silversmith specialising in silver‑mounted cutlery.

The knives retain their original polished steel blades, each stamped with the full set of Victorian assay marks including the lion passant, crowned leopard’s head, duty mark, and date letter. The forks are similarly mounted with engraved sterling collars and matching mother‑of‑pearl grips.

A well‑preserved and elegant dessert service of the period, displaying the refined craftsmanship and decorative quality associated with late‑Victorian table silver. Complete sets of this type are increasingly scarce.
